Frequently Asked Questions
Is STAT part of Shore Leave?
Actually, it's the other way around. The Star Trek Association of Towson is the parent organization, and Shore Leave is just one of our many committees.
STAT was founded in 1978, and the first Shore Leave was held in 1979.
Who founded STAT?
Although there have been claims that STAT was founded by one person, the fact is STAT was founded back in 1978 by about a dozen people who shared an interest in Star Trek. It was a year later that they held the first Shore Leave Convention, which attracted even more Star Trek enthusiasts into the group.
Some of the founding members are still active members of the group.
